Argentina November 2025: BAIC in Top 10, VW Tera up to #3
The new BJ30 helps BAIC into the Top 10 brands.
In November, new light vehicle sales in Argentina endure their first year-on-year drop since November 2024 at -3.5% to 32,913. The year-to-date tally however remains at stratospheric heights, up 50.2% on the same period last year to 556,535. This month Volkswagen (-12.2%) reclaims the brands top spot for the first time since last March and despite a steep year-on-year loss. Toyota (-38.6%) is relegated to 2nd place. The Japanese carmaker easily stays in pole position YTD. Fiat (-8.9%) disappoints at #3, distancing Renault (+13.3%), Ford (+1.7%) and Chevrolet (+47.7%) all very going against the negative market. Jeep (+22.9%) and Citroen (+12.2%) also shine but none better than BAIC (+567.3%), breaking into the Argentinian Top 10 brands for the first time at #10. Haval (+789.5%), Hyundai (+248.9%) and Kia (+181.6%) also soar below.
The VW Tera is already on Argentina’s podium for its 5th month of sales.
Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux (-26.1%) repeats at #1 but freefalls yoy and is stuck at #3 year-to-date vs. #2 over the Full Year 2024. The Peugeot 208 (-48.5%) fares even worse to 4.1% share vs. 5.1% so far this year. The event of the month is the third place of the new VW Tera for its 5th month in market, up 7 spots on October. It is by far the brand’s best-seller and justifies VW’s top spot in the brands ranking. The Fiat Cronos (-28.5%) and Toyota Yaris (-32.3%) complete the Top 5 in mediocre fashion, with the latter staying #1 year-to-date above the Cronos. Notice also the new BAIC BJ30 up to a record #16.
