Chile October 2025: Negative market, Omoda C5 and Suzuki Fronx hit record rankings
The Omoda C5 reaches a record 7th place in Chile this month.
After gaining 23.7% last month, the Chilean new light vehicle market falls back to earth in October at -14.8% year-on-year to 23,531 units. The year-to-date tally however remains in positive at +2.4% to 255,401. Hyundai (+1.9%) defies the negative context and is the only gainer in the Top 7, snapping its first monthly win since August 2024 with 8.6% share vs. 6.9% year-to-date. Toyota (-15%) drops to #2 but stays #1 through October. Chevrolet (-13.9%) rallies back up five spots on September to #3, distancing Ford (-11.6%) and GWM (-14%) limiting their fall somewhat. In contrast Kia (-39%) and Suzuki (-38.3%) both implode. Changan (+19.4%) and Mazda (+14.5%) deliver the only additional upticks in the Top 10. Sales of Chinese brands are down just -2.1% to 35.4% share vs. 31.4% so far this year.
Over in the models charts, the Toyota Hilux (+7.5%) sports a third consecutive win, ending the month 17 sales above the GWM Poer (-7.2%). The Mitsubishi L200 (-28.6%) ensures the podium is 100% pickup as it is also the case year-to-date. The Chery Tiggo 2 ranks #4 ahead of the Mazda CX-5 (+51.1%). Below the GWM Jolion (-14.8%), the Omoda C5 (+47.5%) reaches a record 7th place with 1.8% share. The Hyundai Creta (+3.9%) also rises at #9 while the Suzuki Fronx is up 10 spots to a record 11th place.
