Belgium October 2025: MG (+506.6%), Hyundai (+121.5%), Dacia (+14.9%) among rare gainers in market off for 19th straight month
MG sales are up 6-fold year-on-year in Belgium.
It’s a 19th consecutive month of YoY declines (!) for the Belgian new car market at -6.8% to 33,955 units. The year-to-date tally is now off -8.9% to 357,823. Company sales are off -10.3% to 20,726 whereas private sales are stable at -0.8% to 13,229. At least this is the sign of a relatively healthy market. Note BEVs hold a spectacular 36.4% market share in October. BMW (-35.4%) reclaims the brands top spot despite a very steep YoY fall. The carmaker was indeed at historic high levels back in October 2024. Volkswagen (-14.5%) is down to #2 and also falls significantly faster than the market. Dacia (+14.9%) is the only island of growth in the Top 10 just as Volvo (-1.8%), Peugeot (-3.2%) and Renault (-4.1%) contain their fall but Audi (-19.6%), Skoda (-18.2%) and to a lesser extent Toyota (-9.9%) all struggle. Further down, Hyundai (+121.5%) surges at #11, with Citroen (+93.9%), MG (+506.6%), Mini (+65.2%) and BYD (+67.4%) making themselves forced.
