Saudi Arabia August 2025: Sales up 6.8%, Toyota Yaris Sedan best-seller
The Toyota Yaris Sedan is the uncontested leader in Saudi Arabia this month.
The Saudi new light vehicle market is up a solid 6.8% year-on-year in August to 73,153 units. This way, the year-to-date tally is up 8.3% to 545,740. Toyota (+5.2%) trails the market slightly but still signs a strong 29.9% share vs. 27.8% so far this year. Hyundai (+2%) is weaker at 14.9% of the market, while Kia (+120.2%) compensates on a low year-ago basis to hold onto the third spot overall. Suzuki (+14.8%) and Isuzu (+12.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 but Changan (-33.6%), Geely (-23.8%) and Nissan (-23.1%) all crumble down. In contrast Fiat (+726.3%), GMC (+116.4%), Haval (+82.7%) and Jetour (+52.4%) all impress further down.
Over in the models charts, the Toyota Yaris Sedan (+28.8%) is back up to #1 with over 5,000 sales. This means it is the “true” leader as combined sales of Toyota Camry (-3.2%) and Camry HEV (-3.4%), now counted separately, don’t come close. The Hyundai Accent (-23.5%) is relegated to 2nd place but remains #1 year-to-date. This month it distances the Toyota Hilux (+11.1%), Hyundai Elantra (+8.3%) and Kia Pegas. The Suzuki Swift DZire (+38.8%) is back up to #7 vs. #12 so far this year, with the Hyundai i10 (+58.7%), Sonata (+116.4%) and Nissan Patrol (+106.8%) also very dynamic.
