China imports September 2025: BMW (+24%), Suzuki (+284.8%) among most impressive
Imported BMW 2 Series sales are up 168.1% in September.
48,088 new imported cars found a buyer in China in September, that’s a -7.5% year-on-year drop. Year-to-date volumes are down -11.5% to 417,426. Lexus (+2.9%) counters the negative market with a small rise and over 15,000 sales. The podium is unchanged on last month with Mercedes (-22.7%) and BMW (+24%) in tow and enjoying opposite fortunes. Land Rover (+7.7%) is also up, passing Porsche (-23.3%). Suzuki (+284.8%) continues to surge at #10 with Mini (+32.4%) also impressive in the remainder of the Top 10.
Model-wise, the Lexus ES (+12.4%) remains comfortably in the lead with over 10,000 sales. The Mercedes GLE (-26.2%) is back above the Lexus RX (+2.9%) but struggles mightily year-on-year. The Land Rover Defender (+8.6%) is up three spots on last month to #4 with the Range Rover (-11.5%) also up three to round out the Top 5. The BMW 2 Series (+168.1%), 4 Series (+40.1%) and Toyota Alphard (+7%) also impress below.
