Ukraine August 2025: BYD up to 11.6% share, Renault Duster back to #1 model
The BYD Sealion 7 ranks at #8 in Ukraine in August.
7,118 new light vehicles hit Ukrainian roads in August, a -15.5% year-on-year regression. The year-to-date tally is now off -8.7% to 46,248. Toyota (-17.2%) retains the brands top spot with 14.7% share while BYD (+168.1%) continues to go from strength to strength, advancing further to 11.6% share vs. 7% so far this year. Volkswagen (+6%) and Hyundai (+31.6%) are also in great shape whereas BMW (-48.3%) and Renault (-29%) are in trouble. Honda (+35.9%) is the only remaining Top 10 member in positive just as Suzuki (-14.5%) and Audi (-12.4%) limit their fall somewhat and Skoda (-0.7%) is stable. Just outside the Top 10, Zeekr improves by 51.6% over August 2024.
Model-wise, the Renault Duster (-23.3%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date, with the BYD Song Plus (+105.6%) down to #2 but still sporting outstanding gains. The Toyota RAV4 (-33.8%) is in great difficulty but manages to repeat at #3 ahead of the Hyundai Tucson (+38.7%) up one rank on last month to #4. The VW ID.Unyx is the best-selling recent launch at #5 above the BYD Sealion 7 at #8, the Zeekr 7X at #16 and the BYD (aka Fang Sheng Bao) Leopard 3 at #25. Notice also the Honda E-NS1 (+778.3%) and Toyota Prado (+2733.3%) posting surreal upticks in the remainder of the Top 10.
