Russia August 2025: Belgee, Jetour, Solaris, Toyota defy market off -17.6%
The Belgee X50 is up to a record 4th place across Russia in August.
122,235 new cars found a buyer in Russia in August, that’s a -17.6% year-on-year decrease. So far this year, volumes are down -23% to 773,264. Homegrown behemoth Lada falls heavily at -28.4% and sees its market share thaw to 22.6% vs. 27.3% year-to-date. Haval (-13.7%) reclaims its usual 2nd spot and accounts for 13.1% of the market, its highest since January (13.3%). Chery (-32.9%) and Geely (-40.1%) completely implode below. Belarus-Geely joint venture Belgee (+124%) shoots up to a record 5th place, also sporting highest ever volumes and share. This is also the case for Jetour (+21.1%) at #7 and Solaris (+72.4%) at #8. We have a surprise in 9th place: Toyota, one of the rare Western brands to not have exited the Russian market, even sees its registrations surge 95.7% year-on-year.
Model-wise, the Lada Granta (-31.4%) falls apart at 10.6% share vs. 12.2% so far this year while the Haval Jolion (-25.8%) is back up to 2nd place for the first time since last October, side-stepping the Lada Vesta (-43.9%) also freefalling. The Belgee X50 (+59.6%) reaches new heights at a record 4th place just as the new Chery Tiggo 7L advances a further two spots on last month to a splendid 5th position. The Lada Niva Legend (-19.1%) is the only additional Russian model in the Top 10 at #10, with all others being Chinese. Note the Chery Tiggo 4 down three ranks to #7 and the Geely Monjaro (-15.4%) limiting its fall to rank at #8.
