Israel August 2025: Chery repeats at #1, breaks share record again

Chery holds a 12.6% share of the Israeli car market in August.

According to our local partner cartube.co.il, the Israeli new car market soars 24.2% to 28,342 in August, partly thanks to delayed sales from last June when the war with Iran disrupted operations. Through August, volumes are up 4.8% to 212,738. In the brands ranking, Chery (+177.9%) spectacularly repeats in pole position, improving its share record for the 4th month in a row to 12.6%. This is an outstanding performance from the Chinese brand, especially given it is achieved with a majority of ICE models. Toyota (-3.1%) is back up to #3 and takes the YTD lead off Hyundai (-0.1%) down to #3 for the month. Kia (+85.9%) and BYD (+76.8%) stand out in the remainder of the Top 10, while below Jaecoo (+609.6%), MG (+1152.2%), Forthing (+14675%) and Maxus (+3462.5%) all post surreal gains. Tesla is down -85% to #31 vs. #11 over the Full Year 2024.

Previous month: Israel July 2025: Chery overall best-seller for the first time
