Argentina August 2025: Sales up 32.2% to highest since 2018, Toyota Yaris distant leader
The Toyota Yaris holds 7.2% of the Argentinean market in August.
51,509 new light vehicles hit Argentinean roads in August, a 32.2% YoY improvement and once again the highest August volume in 7 years: since the 65.347 units of August 2018. The year-to-date talky is up 65.9% to 420,598, here too the best at this stage of the year in 7 years (627,612 in 2018). Toyota (+13.4%) and Volkswagen (+22.4%) both advance slower than the market but hold onto the Top 2 spots with 18.8% and 16.7% share respectively. At a fair distance (11.6% share), Fiat is up 36% while Renault is up 43.8% at #4. Chevrolet (+88.1%), Nissan (+46%) and Jeep (+42.4%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10.
Over in the models aisle, the Toyota Yaris (+107.5%) more than doubles its sales YoY and is a distant leader at 7.3% share, its third win in the past 4 months and advancing to #2 year-to-date as a result. The Toyota Hilux (-27.9%) is hit hard but manages to rank #2 for the month vs. #4 through August. Excellent month for the VW Amarok (+62.2%) up four ranks on last month to #3. The Fiat Cronos (+9.3%), still #1 year-to-date, is very shy at #4 while the Ford Ranger (-7.9%) round out the Top 5 but disappoints. The Peugeot 208 (-31.2%), leader over the Full Year 2024, is in complete freefall at #8. But the Chevrolet Tracker (+95.4%) and Peugeot 2008 (+178.5%) both fare extremely well to close out the Top 10. Below, the Ford Territory (+314.5%), Renault Kwid (+27620%) and Chevrolet Onix (+227.9%) post smashing results.
