Thailand June 2025: BYD passes Honda to record 2nd place with 11.9% share

The Dolphin helps BYD to a record 2nd place in Thailand in June.

53,535 new cars hit Thai roads in June, leading to a H1 volume standing at 319,627. Toyota remains by far the most popular brand in the country with 36.4% share, albeit below its H1 level of 38.6%. Already the biggest surprise last month when it outsold Isuzu for the first time to reach a record third place, BYD stuns again in June. It spectacularly rises to 2nd place overall with an all-time high 11.9% share, outpacing traditional #2 Honda (11.5%) for the first time. Isuzu (9.3%) stays in 4th position ahead of Mitsubishi and MG. GAC Aion repeats at #8 while Changan returns inside the Top 10 at #10.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Hilux Revo is once again the best-seller with the Toyota Yaris Ativ repeating at #2 with a very solid 9% share, well above the Isuzu D-Max. The Toyota Yaris Cross and Honda City round out the Top 5 like they did last month and as per the YTD charts. The BYD Dolphin is up one spot on May to #6 while the BYD Atto 3 is up 14 to #8. The MG 4 climbs six ranks to #11 but the BYD Sealion 7 (#12) and Sealion 6 (#19) slip out of the Top 10.
