Malaysia June 2025: Proton Saga overtakes Perodua Myvi for third place

The Proton Saga is the third best-selling vehicle in Malaysia in June.

58,175 new cars found a buyer in Malaysia in June, a steep fall from the 73,964 of May. The H1 2025 tally stands at 393,780. Perodua is once again the standalone leader but sees its market share thaw to 38.4% vs. 42.2% so far this year. Proton is solid in 2nd place at 18.3% share, followed closely by Toyota at 16.7%. Honda and Chery camp on their positions, at #4 and #5 respectively. Jaecoo edges past BYD to claim the 6th spot but only holds 1.9% of the market. BMW is up two spots on last month to #190 while Tesla is down two to #11 which is still better than the #16 spot it holds YTD.

Model-wise, the Perdua Bezza and Axia hold onto the top two spots while the Proton Saga overtakes the Perodua Myvi to third place overall with a strong 8.9% share. The Alza and Ativa make it five Peroduas in the Top 6, the same situation as over H1. The Toyota Vios, Hilux and Honda City follow just as the Toyota Alphard steps up to #10 vs. #13 year-to-date. Excellent score by the Perodua Aruz up to #12 vs. #16 so far the year.
