Iraq H1 2025: Kia and Frontier back to #1
The Kia Frontier is the most popular vehicle in Iraq over H1 2025.
Iraqi new car sales advance 9% year-on-year over the First Half 2025 to 80,165 units. Kia (+13.1%) reclaims the top spot it held up until 2023 with an improved 28.7% share. As a result a struggling Toyota (-19.7%) is relegated to 2nd place. MG (+45.7%) overtakes Hyundai (-36.6%) to snap the third position overall while Nissan (+502.7%) is up spectacularly to rank #5 ahead of Jetour (+47.1%) also in great shape. GMC (+76.8%) and Changan (+17.3%) are the only additional gainers in the Top 10.
Model-wise, here too the ranking is back to “normal” with the long standing leader (up to 2023) back to pole position. Indeed the Kia Frontier (+9%) now outsells the Toyota Hilux (-11.5%) which was #1 over the Full Year 2024 and Q1 2025. Kia once again places three models inside the Top 4 with the Sorento (+15.1%) and Sportage (+70.5%) in tow. The Hyundai Tucson (-27%) freefalls to #5 while the Nissan Sunny is back in the rankings, directly landing at #6.
