Hungary July 2025: Skoda (+54.9%) and BMW (+65.3%) shine in market up 26.8%

The Skoda Octavia doubles its sales year-on-year in July.

10,809 new passenger cars hit Hungarian roads in July, a stunning 26.8% year-on-year lift. The year-to-date volume is up 7% to 76,910. In the passenger car brands ranking, Toyota (-1.8%) manages a fourth consecutive win at 10.4% share but remains #2 year-to-date below Suzuki (+14.4%), 2nd in July. Skoda (+54.9%) and BMW (+65.3%) both post fantastic scores, and are followed by Volkswagen (+20.4%) and Ford (+13.4%). Renault (+292.6%) is by far the most dynamic carmaker in the Top 20, with Dacia (+56.2%), KGM (+40.2%), MG (#14) and Citroen (#18) also making themselves noticed. Tesla slips out of the Top 20 and is down -10.8% year-to-date.

Looking at models, the Skoda Octavia (+96.4%) threepeats at #1 with 4.5% share, distancing the Suzuki S-Cross by just 7 sales. But it’s the S-Cross that keeps the YTD leadership with 4.9% of the market. The Suzuki Vitara (-6.2%) returns to the podium, distancing the Kia Ceed (-1.6%) and Ford Tourneo Custom. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+49%) is up to #6 and the Suzuki Swift (+103.2%) surges ahead.
