69,842 new light vehicles hit Egyptian roads over the First Half of 2025, a sumptuous 97% year-on-year surge. There’s a big event atop the brands charts: Chevrolet goes from #5 over the Full Year 2024 directly to the top spot with 14.6% share, lifted by a resurgent T-Series pickup and a new generation Optra as we’ll see further down. Nissan is relegated to 2nd place with 14.4% of the market vs. 16.8% over FY25, with Chery at #3 and 11.7% share vs. 14.2% and Hyundai at #4 and 11% vs. 12%, both down one spot on last year. For its part MG climbs to #5 and crosses the 10% share milestone. The Top 5 brands hold 62% of the Egyptian market over the period. Notice also BAIC up to #9 vs. #17 over FY24 and Fiat up to #10 vs. #18. BYD on the other hand falls from #7 to #12.
Model-wise, the Nissan Sunny stays on top but sees its share thaw from 12.6% to 11.6%. Meanwhile the valiant Chevrolet T-Series pickup is up from 7.6% to 10.2%. The Hyundai Elantra is up three spots to #4 but the biggest change atop the charts is delivered by the Chevrolet Optra: a new generation lifts its sales to 4.1% share at #4. The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is up three ranks to #5, ahead off the Hyundai Accent at #6 (-3) and the Toyota Corolla at #7 (-2). The MG 5 is up to #8 (+7) and the MG ZS up to #9 (+3).
