Ecuador July 2025: GWM, Chery, Hyundai stand out in highest July volume in 6 years
The GWM Poer is up to 4th place in Ecuador in July.
New vehicle sales in Ecuador surge 31.8% year-on-year in July to 11,607 units, the best monthly result since March 2024 and the highest July since 2019. This tilts the year-to-date tally into positive territory at +1.4% to 66,949. Kia (+38.9%) confirms it is the new favourite of Ecuadorian buyers with 15.3% share, albeit below the 16.3% it commands through July. Chevrolet (-16.6%) endures the worst performance in the Top 20 and falls to 11.4% share vs. 14% so far this year. Hyundai (+67.5%) is back above Toyota (-4.9%) for third place. Sinotruk (+146.9%) is back up 7 spots on last month to #9, signing the biggest YoY gain in the Top 10, with GWM (+103%), Chery (+81.3%), Renault (+55.2%) and JAC (+52.7%) also standing out. Below, BYD (+325.4%), Foton (+149.5%) and Dongfeng (+87.4%) make themselves noticed.
Model-wise, the Kia Soluto easily holds onto the top spot with 7% share while the Chevrolet D-Max returns to the 2nd place it holds year-to-date. The Chevrolet Groove is also up one rank on last month to #3 as is the GWM Poer up to #4. #2 in June, the Kia Sonet falls to #5 for the month vs. #4 year-to-date. The Hyundai Tucson is back into the Top 10 at #6 ahead of the Kia Sportage and Seltos.
