Brazil July 2025: Fiat above 50,000 sales for the first time this year, BYD up 60.1%
The Fiat Fastback reaches a record 11th place in Brazil in July.
New light vehicle sales in Brazil edge up 1.3% year-on-year in July to 230,223, leading to a year-to-date tally up 4.4% to 1,361,494. Fiat (+0.3%) is stable and lodges its first 50,000+ sales month of the year with a 22% share. This is to be compared with 11,061 sales and 9.3% share at home in Italy. Volkswagen (+12.9%) posts another solid month at 18.2% share vs. 16.8% so far this year. Chevrolet (-6.2%) struggles at #3 as do Jeep (-18.4%), Toyota (-13%), Hyundai (-6.9%) and Renault (-6.6%) below. In contrast BYD surges 60.1% to #8 and 4.2% share. Outside the Top 10, notice Ford (+36.6%), Caoa Chery (+25.7%), Mitsubishi (+25.7%) and GWM (+23.1%).
Model-wise, the VW Polo (+3.2%) lodges a 4th consecutive month in pole position, but remains far below the Fiat Strada (-9.1%) in the YTD race. The Fiat Argo (+15%) advances to #3, a ranking it now also holds year-to-date. It exchanges rankings with the VW T-Cross (+10.2%), down to #4 for the month and YTD. The Fiat Mobi (+19%) is up three spots on last month to #5, distancing the Hyundai Creta (+7.9%), Chevrolet Onix (+3.6%) and Tracker (+9.1%). Meanwhile the Toyota Corolla Cross (+41.6%) delivers the biggest gain in the Top 10 and ends the month at #9. The Nissan Kicks (+9%) is up 13 ranks on June to close out the Top 10. Just outside, the Fiat Fastback breaks its ranking record at #11, eclipsing its previous best of #12 reached in July 2024 and April 2025. Notice also the Fiat Pulse (+32.1%) and VW Saveiro (+29.9%) in great shape while the new VW Tera is up a further four spots to #25.
