Argentina July 2025: Sales up 45.7% to best in 7 years, Toyota Yaris #1
The Toyota Yaris is #1 in Argentina for the 2nd time in the past 3 months.
The Argentinean new light vehicle market continues to stun with July sales up a whopping 45.7% year-on-year to 59,030 units. This is the highest June volume in 7 years: since July 2018 (66,746). As a result, the year-to-date tally is now up 71.7% to 368,414, also the best result at this stage of the year since 2019 (562,365). Toyota (+4.4%) vastly trails the market but manages to recover the YTD pole position off Volkswagen (+26.3%). Chevrolet (+120%), Fiat (+112.5%) and Renault (+78.1%) all post stellar gains in the Top 5, while below Jeep (+105.3%) stands out with Citroen (+51.8%) also strong. Hyundai (+1708.8%) surges at #12 and 1% share. JAC (+1175%), Haval (+811.4%), Kia (+690.2%) and BAIC (+332.2%) also post surreal gains.
Over in the models charts, the Toyota Yaris (+69.5%) signs a second win in the past three months (and ever!) with a dominant 6.2% share. It ranks #4 so far in 2025 vs. #5 over the Full Year 2024. Leader last month, the Fiat Cronos (+9.3%) reclaims the YTD #1 spot, keeping in mind it ended 2024 at #2. The Toyota Hilux (-26.9%), Ford Ranger (-15.9%) and Peugeot 208 (-24.7%) all fall heavily, a mediocre result in a booming market. The 208 loses its YTD #1 crown as a result. The Renault Kwid (+47725%) and Chevrolet Onix (+656.6%) lodge the largest lifts in the Top 10, with the VW Amarok (+57.2%) also beating the market but the VW Polo (+40.1%) and Toyota Corolla Cross (+24.7%) fall behind.
