End of quarter and semester are traditionally stronger for the French manufacturer. Skoda (+12.4%) is once again in great shape, lodging the biggest gain in the Top 20 but dropping one rank on May to #3, a ranking it also holds over H1. BMW (+4.3%) is strong and repeats at #4, distancing Toyota (-16%) in dire straits at #5 but still #2 year-to-date. The Renault Clio is #1 in Europe for the third straight month.
Over in the models charts, the Renault Clio (+15.8%) brilliantly threepeats at #1 partly thanks to a fantastic result at home in France which accounts for exactly 50% of its total European volume for the month. It consolidates its 2nd spot year-to-date. At #2 we have the Tesla Model Y (+0.1%) traditionally stronger in end of quarter months and finally stable YoY thanks to its facelift. This is to be compared with -49% in January, -56% in February, -42% in March, -53% in April and -6.7% in May. Model Y sales don’t include a dominant market, with 21% of its June tally held by Norway, 18% in the UK and 14% in France. The Dacia Sandero (-13.6%) is in difficulty but still ranks #1 over H1, just like last year. France represents 30% of its June total. Disappointing score for the VW T-Roc (-8.4%), 33% of its sales coming from Germany. The Peugeot 2008 (+4.8%) cracks the European Top 5 for the first time since October 2023.
