Chile June 2025: Mitsubishi L200 now #1 YTD
The Mitsubishi L200 is #1 both in June and YTD.
The Chilean new car market is up a solid 7.6% year-on-year in June to 24,281 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 2.2% to 145,628. Toyota (+12.2%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date with 7.8% share, distancing last month’s leader Suzuki (+40.7%). Hyundai (-2.4%) is up one spot on last month to #3 while Peugeot (+3.3%) is up two to #4. Kia (-12.1%) and Chevrolet (-10.8%) both struggle below. Chery (+78.3%), Mitsubishi (+57.5%), Mazda (+31.4%) and Changan (+26.7%) shine. All in all, Chinese carmakers are up 22.9% to 32.6% share vs. 30% so far this year.
Model-wise, the Mitsubishi L200 (+77.1%) is up five spots on May to land its 2nd victory of the year after last January. This is enough to propel it to the #1 YTD ranking, upsetting the Toyota Hilux (-12.3%). Surprise leader last month, the Peugeot Partner (+129.2%) signs another excellent result at #3. The GWM Poer (+10.8%) and Chery Tiggo 2 round out the Top 5. Below, the Omoda C5 (+127.9%) repeats at a record 9th place, with the Suzuki Baleno (+87.8%), Mazda CX-5 (+82%) and GWM Jolion (+79.1%) also in outstanding shape.
