Argentina June 2025: Market surges 68.9% to best June in 7 years

The Fiat Cronos has been refreshed for 2025.

New light vehicle registrations in Argentina continue to surge in June at +68.9% year-on-year to 49,577. This is the best June volume in 7 years: since the 64,140 units of June 2018. The H1 2025 tally stands at 308,887, a 77.5% year-on-year uptick. This month Toyota (+25.2%) is back above Volkswagen (+59.4%) for the brands top spot but both carmakers underperform. One the other hand Fiat (+123.7%) delivers stunning growth as do Renault (+83.3%), Chevrolet (+143.3%) and Peugeot (+83.2%) below. Ford (+12%) is a lot more discreet and drops two spots on last month to #7. Jeep (+143.5%) shines just as Citroen (+67.5%) and Nissan (+49.8%) are a little more shy. Hyundai (+1445.5%) compensates for a particularly weak year-ago result and climbs to #11.

Model-wise, the once ultra dominant Fiat Cronos (+38.4%) returns to pole position for the first time since February with 5.8% share. Leader for the first time last month, the Toyota Yaris (+89.8%) falls back to #2 but still delvers an outstanding performance. Not as much as the VW Polo (+140.3%) though, up two spots on May to #3. The Peugeot 208 (+14.5%) remains in the YTD top spot but falls to #4. It is followed by three pickups: the Toyota Hilux (-4.5%), Ford Ranger (+14.5%) and VW Amarok (+38.4%) all trailing the market by a significant margin. The Chevrolet Tracker (+147%) impresses at #9 while the Peugeot 2008 (+158700%) lodges a 4th ever Top 10 finish, all achieved during the past 10 months. The Renault Kwid (+122765%) and Fiat Mobi (+48800%) also post surreal gains.
