Turkiye April 2025: Record market, BYD Seal U up to #2

The BYD Seal U is only outsold by the Renault Clio in April.

105,352 new light vehicles found a buyer in Turkiye in April, a spectacular 38.8% year-on-year surge and a new record for the month, the first time above 100,000 units and eclipsing the previous April best of 97,679 in April 2023. The year-to-date tally is now in positive at 381,626, also a new record for the period  beating the 371,438 units of last year. Renault (+42.8%) retains the brands top spot above Fiat (-1.6%) in great difficulty but climbing back up to #2 year-to-date. Ford (+23.8%) and Volkswagen (+18.5%) are up but below the market rate, whereas Toyota (+183.8%), Peugeot (+92%) and Opel (+62.3%) all score sensational gains. BYD (+1629.8%) is up 17-fold year-on-year, smashing its share record at 5.1% vs. a previous best of 4% last January and stepping up to an all-time best 9th place.

Over in the models ranking, the Renault Clio (+52.5%) stays on top with 4.7% share but the event of the month is in 2nd place, occupied by the BYD Seal U at 4.3% share. This is up from #18 last month and vs. a previous best of #5 hit last January. The Fiat Egea Sedan (-15.9%) is in trouble but, like the brand, it is up to #2 year-to-date. The local Togg T10X (+17.8%) is up to a fantastic 4th place while the Renault Megane Sedan (+82.7%) rounds out the Top 5. The Toyota C-HR (+1877%!), Peugeot 2008 (+229.1%), 3008 (+91.9%) and Toyota Corolla Sedan (+57.8%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10.

Previous month: Turkiye March 2025: +63.6% lodges highest ever volume in record market

One year ago: Turkiye April 2024: sales off -22.3%, Togg T10X up to #2
