Malaysia March 2025: Chery up to #5

The new Omoda C9 pushes Chery up to #5 brand in March.

Today we are able to share with you complete sales data for Malaysia in March. 76,515 new cars found a buyer in the country this month, leading to a year-to-date tally of 197,026. Local behemoth Perodua holds 39.8% of its home market, that’s significantly below the 47.4% of last month but still ultra dominant nonetheless. Proton follows at 17.6% ahead of Toyota at 14% and Honda at 12.3%. The top four manufacturers account for a whopping 83.7% share of the Malaysian market for the month. Chery is up two spots on February to #5 while Jaecoo is down one to #7 and BYD up one to #8.

The Perodua Bezza holds onto the models top spot with 11.1% share, while the Perodua Axia is back up to #2 at 9.2%. The Perodua Myvi rounds out the podium at 8.6% of the market. The Proton Saga is the best of the rest at #4 ahead of the Perodua Alza at #5. The Honda HR-V overtakes the Toyota Vios to #8 just as the Proton S70 climbs up five spots on last month to #10 and the Toyota Alphard is up 9 to #11. Notice also the Proton e.MAS 7 at #22 and the Chery Omoda C9 at #24.
