Mexico March 2025: Chevrolet Aveo (+40.2%), Nissan Pickup (+23.3%) shine in best March volume in 8 years

The Chevrolet Aveo ranks #2 in Mexico in March.

127,360 new light vehicles found a buyer in Mexico in March, a small +1.2% year-on-year improvement but still the strongest result for the month since March 2017 (137,021) and the 2nd biggest March volume in Mexican history. Q1 volumes are up 3.4% to 365,104, here too the 2nd highest tally at this stage of the year below the 378,275 of Q1 2017. Nissan (+0.4%) is stable year-on-year and reaches 18.5% share vs. 17.9% over Q1. Chevrolet (+1.6%) nudges a little more to 13.2% share vs. 12.5% so far this year. Volkswagen (+5.5%) is more dynamic at #3 but not as much as Toyota (+19.8%) and Mazda (+25%) rounding out the Top 5. MG (-20.1%) is in deep trouble at #9.

Over in the models charts, the Nissan Versa (-12.6%) remains ultra dominant despite a stark year-on-year loss. The Chevrolet Aveo (+40.2%) advances to #2 with 4.8% of the market, overtaking the Nissan NP300 (+23.3%) also in great shape. The Kia K3 (-3.2%) has ended its honeymoon period at #4 with the Nissan March (+25.6%) strong at #5. Nissan places four models in the Top 6 as it does year-to-date with the Kicks (+0.8%) at #6. Outstanding month for the Mazda2 (+109.1%) at #7, for the VW Jetta (+49.4%) at #11 and for the Toyota RAV4 (+115.7%) at #12.
