Ireland March 2025: Toyota monopolises podium with RAV4, Yaris Cross and Corolla

The Toyota RAV4 is the most popular model in Ireland in March.

The Irish new car market rallies back up 18.3% year-on-year in March to a splendid 17,328 units. This is much more than in February which is very unusual as sales tend to drop continuously from the high of plate change January. The year-to-date volume tilts back into positive at +3.7% to 64,807. Toyota (+19.1%) roughly matches the market to stay atop the brands charts with 16.1% share but Volkswagen (+62.1%) is much more dynamic in 2nd place with 12.3% of the market vs. 10.3% so far this year. Skoda (+4.1%) and Kia (+6.4%) are more muted while Hyundai (+44.5%) and Renault (+107.9%) impress.

Over in the models charts, Toyota spectacularly monopolises the podium with the RAV4 (+76.2%), Yaris Cross (+35.8%) and Corolla (+58.9%) all in fantastic shape. The Skoda Kodiaq (+320.3%) does even better and climbs to #4 overall, distancing the Nissan Qashqai (-26.2%), Juke (-26.9%) and Kia Sportage (-0.7%) all struggling. Leader last month and over Q1, the Hyundai Tucson (+30.2%) falls to #8 but soars year-on-year. The VW ID.4 (+387.1%), T-Cross (+285%) and Toyota Corolla Cross (+108.9%) all post surreal gains below.
