Germany private sales March 2025: Fiat Ducato takes the lead

The Fiat Ducato is the favourite of German private buyers in March.

84,414 new cars were sold in German private customers in March, a 33.3% ratio and +0.3% year-on-year improvement. The private sales ratio (PSR) in March 2024 was 31.9%. Over Q1, the PS volume is up 3.9% to 225,954 and 34% ratio vs. 31.3% a year ago. This month and as is usually the case in the lead-up to summer, the Fiat Ducato is the favourite of private buyers with a strong 64.1% PSR. Cars purchased by campervan makers are counted as private sales. The year-to-date leader, the VW T-Roc is down to #2 with 30.7% PSR. Excellent month for the Cupra Formentor at #3 with 45.6% PSR, dislodging the Dacia Sandero at 64.7%. Leader in the overall market, the VW Golf falls to #5 with private buyers with a poor 23.1% PSR. The Cupra Born (89% PSR), Mercedes GLA (63%) and Skoda Karoq (62.3%) also post stellar ratios in the remainder of the Top 10.
