Denmark March 2025: Tesla off -65.6%, Skoda Elroq up to #2

The Skoda Elroq is only outsold by the VW ID.4 in March.

The Danish new car market sinks -11.2% year-on-year in March to just 14,987 units. However thanks to a solid start of the year the Q1 tally is actually up 1.3% to 37,435. Volkswagen (+59.7%) completely defies the tumbling market to ascertain its domination with 15.9% share. Mercedes (-13.4%) and Toyota (-37.9%) both struggle and complete the podium. The next five carmakers are all in clear positive. Once again Cupra (+475.5%) lodges a spectacular result and ranks #7 with 6% share, after hitting a record third place last month. Skoda (+105.5%) also excels, as does Hyundai (+78.4%) and to a lesser extent Audi (+16.4%) and BMW (+13.2%). Tesla implodes -65.6% and ranks #10 year-to-date vs. #2 over the Full Year 2024. New brand Navor, which sells DFSK models, jumps to #22 with 1% share, distancing such established manufacturers as Honda, Dacia and Citroen.

The Top 7 best-selling models are BEVs (vs. Top 11 last month). The VW ID.4 (+138.3%) repeats at #1 to sign its 5th ever monthly win after December 2022, May 2024, July 2024 and February 2025. It also ranks #1 year-to-date. The new Skoda Elroq shoots up 38 spots on last month to land at a brilliant 2nd place, dislodging the VW ID.3 (+125.6%). Leader over the Full Year 2024, the Tesla Model Y (-52.3%) freefalls at #4 and ranks #5 over Q1. The Model 3 is hit even harder at -82.3% to #33.
