Reunion (France): Renault Clio topples Peugeot 208 in struggling market (-11.8%)
The Renault Clio is the most popular model in Reunion in 2024.
2024 is a difficult year for new car sales in Reunion, a French overseas territory located located east of Madagascar. 26,351 new light vehicles found a buyer, a harsh -11.8% year-on-year drop. Renault (-7.2%) resists better than the market and improves its share to 17.7%. Peugeot (-11.8%) is at 15.7% and Toyota (-14.9%) at 8.7% just above Citroen (-13.6%). Dacia (-17.7%) is less popular here than in other French overseas territories, holding 7.6% share. Hyundai and Kia follow, with Mercedes breaking into the Top 10 at #10.
Model-wise, the Renault Clio (-0.3%) topples the Peugeot 208 (-14.9%) to snap the lead, while the Dacia Sandero (+6.7%) is only one of three Top 10 nameplates to post a year-on-year gain. The Dacia Duster (-9.9%) is also up one spot on last year to #4 while the Toyota Yaris (-2.4%) is up two to #5. The Toyota Yaris Cross breaks into the Top 10 at #8 and the Citroen Berlingo (+1.3%) is #9.
