Paraguay Full Year 2024: Kia now most popular brand, Toyota Hilux stays #1 model

The Paraguayan new light vehicle market roars up 16.8% year-on-year in 2024 to 34,705 units. This year there’s a big event in the brands charts: Kia (+34%) overtakes both Toyota (+16.8%) and Chevrolet (-11.9%) to snap the pole position with 16.3% share. Hyundai (+17.9%) stays in 4th place above Volkswagen (+28.5%) and Nissan (+1.5%) exchanging rankings vs. 2023. Fiat (+67.9%) and Ford (+22.6%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Hilux (+21.2%) improves its market share to 7.2% and manages a third consecutive annual win. The Chevrolet S10 (-4.4%) and Hyundai HB20 (-6.6%) are both weak but hold onto their 2023 rankings. The Kia Soluto (+31.7%) is up four spots to #4, the Kia Sonet (+40.6%) also up four to #5 and the Hyundai Creta (+81.3%) is up 7 to #6. The Kia Seltos (+48.1%) and Sportage (+59.2%) also break into the Top 10.
