United Arab Emirates Full Year 2024: Nissan Patrol edges past Sunny to sign first victory in 4 years

It’s an excellent year for the Emirati new car market at +15.7% to 318,981 units. Note Jetour and Tesla sales have been added in 2024 and contribute to the market growth for the year. Toyota (-1.7%) underperforms and drops to 24.1% share vs. 28.4% over the Full Year 2023. It is followed by Nissan (+23%) and Mitsubishi (+25.9%) both generating great results. MG (+28.9%) does even better and jumps two spots to #4, leapfrogging past Hyundai (+4.4%) and Kia (+12.2%) both disappointing in context. Ford (+64.1%) shoots up 6 ranks to #7 while Land Rover (+23.8%) progresses to #9 and Jetour lands at #10 with 3% share.
The Nissan Patrol (+22.4%) topples the Nissan Sunny (+9.6%) by just 161 sales to sign its first win since 2020. The Toyota Hilux (+11.7%) repeats in third place above the Toyota Land Cruiser (-10%). The Tesla Model 3, now with available sales figures, makes its first appearance in the UAE annual ranking at #5. The Toyota Camry HEV (+42.8%) is up to #6 and the Land Rover Defender (+42.1%) up 6 spots on last year to #7. The Jetour T2 lands directly at #8 with 1.7% of the market.
