It’s a booming year for new car sales in Estonia: +11.2% year-on-year to 25,386 units in 2024, helped by a late year boost (December sales are up 97.1%) in anticipation of a new car tax implemented at the start of 2025. This is the largest annual volume since pre-pandemic 2019 (26,589).

The top of the brands charts is completely reshuffled. Skoda (+51.3%) surges to a stunning 19.9% share, overtaking Toyota (+6.4%) at 17.6%. Volkswagen (+84%) the biggest gain in the Top 25 and advances two spots to #3. Kia (-5.8%) is in difficulty but manages to stay in 4th place ahead of Renault (+59.7%) and Dacia (+53.6%) both in outstanding shape. Audi (-62.4%) is the loser of the year, skidding from #3 and 11.1% share to #7 and 3.7%.

Over in the models charts, we also have a big change as the Skoda Octavia (+65.1%) reclaims the top spot for the first time since 2018, ending five consecutive years of Toyota RAV4 reign, the latter falling -22.1% to #4. Skoda even manages a 1-2 with the Kodiaq in 2nd place. The Toyota Corolla (+12%) is down one spot to #3. The VW Tiguan, Dacia Duster and Skoda Superb also manage a spot in the Top 10.
