Vietnam November 2024: Market up 51.7%, Mitsubishi (+100.9%), Honda (+83.5%) in shape
The Honda City is up 163.2% year-on-year.
Local association VAMA has the Vietnamese new vehicle market at +58.1% to 44,200 in November, leading to a year-to-date tally up 17.2% to 308,546. These figures climb to 54,503 (+51.7%) and 367,395 (+14.9%) when adding Hyundai which reports separately from VAMA.
In the brands charts, Hyundai (+29.1%) reclaims the top spot both in November and year-to-date with a strong 18.9% share compared to 16% so far this year. Toyota (+49.1%) recedes to 2nd place with Thaco-Kia (+37%) staying put at #3. Mitsubishi (+100.9%), Honda (+83.5%) and Isuzu (+62.5%) post the biggest gains in the Top 10 while Ford (+42.6%), Suzuki (+30.1%), Mazda (+29.8%) and Peugeot (+21.1%) are more discreet.
Model-wise, the Mitsubishi Xpander (+65.1%) is once again the favourite of Omani customers but only 14 units above the Mazda CX-5 (+39.4%) which was #1 a year ago. The Honda City (+163.2%) shoots up to #3 with 4.3% share vs. #7 and 2.7% year-to-date just as the Ford Ranger (+54.3%) and Toyota Vios (+37.3%) round out the Top 5. The new Mitsubishi Xforce stays at #7.
