Czechia November 2024: Skoda places 6 models in Top 6, MG breaks records
Skoda Kodiaq sales are up 40.8% at home.
The Czech new car market gains 6.3% year-on-year in November to 20,641 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 3.6% to 213,710. Skoda (-5.3%) underperform but its year-ago comparison base was particularly high as it hit its highest share in two years then. Hyundai (+1.4%) and Volkswagen (+2%) also trail the market to round out the podium just as Toyota (-5.4%) and Kia (-1.2%) both edge down. It’s the rest of the Top 10 that tilts the market up, its Ford (+129.8%), Renault (+95.3%), MG (+68.8%) and Dacia (+27.8%) all excelling. Note MG breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #10, also beating its volume and share records.
Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (-31.5%) dominates again despite a sharp year-on-year fall. Like last month the Top 6 is entirely composed of Skoda models, and this is now also the case year-to-date. The Fabia (-7.6%) is up three spots on last month to #2, the Scala (-1.2%) is up five to #3 but both models underperform year-on-year as do the Kamiq (-16.2%) and Karoq (-1.4%) below. In contrast the Kodiaq (+40.8%), Superb (+7.2%) and Enyaq (+156.9%) are all in great shape. Like in October and year-to-date, the Hyundai i30 (+11.3%) is the best of the rest at #7, with the Kia Ceed (+21.1%) also shining at #9.
