Chile November 2024: First decline since June, Toyota and Hyundai on top
Toyota is the most popular carmaker in Chile.
First year-on-year decline since June for the Chilean new light vehicle market at -2.1% to 25,103 units. The year-to-date tally is now down -4.3% to 274,405. Toyota (+4.2%) swims upstream with a small gain leading it to 8.1% share vs. 7.7% so far this year. Hyundai (+6.4%) is also up at #2 with a splendid 7.6% share compared to 6.4% year-to-date. Chevrolet (-10.4%) and Kia (-14.6%) struggle while Suzuki (-1.2%) manages to keep its loss below the market rate. Like last month, GWM (+88.2%) impresses ith the largest gain in the Top 10 and Top 35.
The Toyota Hilux (-0.8%) remains the most popular vehicle in the country but is only 5 sales above a resurgent Mitsubishi L200 (+43.2%). The GWM Poer (+6%) is down one spot on last month to #3 just as the Ford Ranger (-5.4%) ensures the Top 4 is entirely composed of pickup trucks. The Peugeot Partner (+80.9%) scores another fantastic result at #5 overall with the GWM Jolion (+58.6%) and Hyundai Grand i10 (+24.9%) also impressive in the remainder of the Top 10.
