Argentina November 2024: Peugeot 208 scores 2nd win of the year

Peugeot 208 sales are up 37.2% year-on-year in November.

The Argentinean new light vehicle market edges down -2.1% year-on-year in November to 33,288 units. That’s a better performance than year-to-date where sales are off -9.3% to 369,821. In the brands charts, Toyota (-10.4%) remains on top with 21.5% share despite a significant year-on-year loss, it distances Volkswagen (-3.9%) faring a little better but still trailing the market. On the other hand Fiat (+15.1%) and most strikingly Peugeot (+66.6%) shine below, with Citroen (+34.8%) and Jeep (+48.9%) the only additional Top 10 gainers. Chevrolet (-4.1%) and Ford (-4.4%) limit their fall whereas Nissan (-50.2%) and Renault (-34.7%) both implode.

Model-wise, the Peugeot 208 (+37.2%) surges ahead to score its second win this year after last April, ending 6 consecutive months of Toyota Hilux reign. This way, the 208 cements its YTD leadership with 7.7% share. The Toyota Hilux (-2.3%) follows the market and is relegated to 2nd place for the month. It also ascends to 2nd place year-to-date, dislodging the Fiat Cronos (-44.5%) freefalling to #6 this month. The VW Amarok (-34.8%) is also in great difficulty but gains two spots on October to land on the third step of the podium. The VW Polo (+65.9%), Toyota Corolla Cross (+61.5%) and Chevrolet Tracker (+32.3%) also make themselves noticed in the remainder of the Top 10.
