Thailand September 2024: Toyota at 42.8% share, Neta in Top 10
Local producer Neta is the #10 brand in Thailand in September.
43,568 new light vehicles hit Thai roads in September. Toyota tightens its grip on the market further with 42.8% share vs. 41.7% last month. It is followed by Honda at 13.1% and Isuzu at 12.1%, a bit better than the 11.4% it held in August but still a far cry from the 19.6% of the Full Year 2023. Mitsubishi and Ford both overtake BYD which is down from 7.1% last month to just 3.1%. MG, BMW and Mazda are below with Chinese fare Neta shooting up 7 spots to crack the Top 10 at #10. Note Neta is a local producer as its first overseas factory is in Thailand. Zeekr lands at #29 and Xpeng at #37.
The Toyota Hilux keeps the lead of the models charts with 13.3% share, well ahead of its archenemy the Isuzu D-Max at 9.6%. The Top 5 is unchanged on August with the Toyota Yaris Ativ, Yaris Cross and Honda City in tow. The Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross and Ford Ranger all advance one spot on last month, taking advantage of the BYD Dolphin’s freefall from #6 to #25. The Mitsubishi Xpander and Isuzu MU-X crack the Top 10, while the Neta V is up 13 ranks to #15.
