United Arab Emirates January-September 2024: Ford up 73.4%, Tesla at #10

Ford Territory sales double year-on-year in the UAE.

222,849 new cars hit Emirati roads over the first 9 months of 2024, a very satisfying 12.3% year-on-year jump. Toyota (-1.3%) disappoints with a year-on-year loss that thaws its market share from 28.9% a year ago to 25.4% now. Nissan (+16.2%) on the other hands beats the market and progresses to 16.3% share. Mitsubishi (+22.8%) does even better at #3 ahead of MG (+14.9%) also in good shape. Ford (+73.4%) and Land Rover (+33.3%) deliver the biggest gains in the Top 10 while Tesla lands directly at #10.

Model-wise, the Nissan Sunny (+6.5%) holds onto the top spot but sees its share decrease to 5.1%. The Toyota Hilux (+6.1%) overtakes the Nissan Patrol (-1.1%) to grab the 2nd place just as the Toyota Land Cruiser (-16.6%) suffers but stays at #4. The Mercedes range holds 2.7% of the market. Excellent showings also for the Land Rover Defender (+61.7%), Toyota Fortuner (+42.1%), Toyota Camry HEV (+40%) and Nissan X-Trail (+28.1%). The Tesla Model 3 ranks #7 and the Model Y is at #18.
