Lebanon January-September 2024: Nissan (+110.9%) catches up on Toyota
The Sunny (+128.8%) helps Nissan up but loses the top spot to the Toyota Land Cruiser.
The Lebanese new car market edges up 4.8% year-on-year over the first 9 months of the year to 17,038 units. Toyota (+12%) outpaces the overall growth rate and climbs to 39.4% share vs. 36.8% over the same period in 2023. But the most spectacular evolution is delivered by Nissan up 110.8% to see its market share shoot up from 13.6% to 27.4%. On the contrary Mitsubishi (-43.2%) is in complete freefall but stays #3. The next four carmakers are also down, with Kia (-22.1%) hit the hardest.
Over in the models charts, the Top 5 all sport stunning gains. The Toyota Land Cruiser (+223.5%) confirms its pole position above last year’s leader the Nissan Sunny (+128.8%) while the Nissan Patrol (+303.1%) closes out the podium. The Toyota Hilux (+38%) and Lexus LX (+124.5%) also impress below, as do the Toyota RAV4 HEV (+254.8%), Toyota Camry HEV (+151.2%) and Nissan Kicks (+131.8%) further down.
