Kuwait January-September 2024: Ford Territory up to #2 in negative market
The Ford Territory is up 19.6% to 2nd place.
92,817 new cars hit Kuwaiti roads over the first 9 months of 2024, a disappointing -4.7% year-on-year drop. Brand leader Toyota (-16.6%) sinks to 28.8% share vs. 32.9% last year, still very dominant above Nissan (-3.3%) at 8.3% share. Ford (+14.2%) overtakes Kia (-5.4%) to climb onto the third step of the podium. Mitsubishi (+6.8%) and MG (+12.6%) also defy the negative market and both pass Chevrolet (-14.8%) in great difficulty. Honda (+31%), Changan (+19.7%), Geely (+17.1%) and Hyundai (+14%) impress below.
Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-30%) confirms it is the most popular vehicle in the country despite a daunting year-on-year fall. The Ford Territory (+19.6%) advances to a fantastic (and world-leading) 2nd place with 3.7% share, distancing the Toyota Prado (-7.9%), Nissan Patrol (-0.5%) and Toyota Camry (-31.1%). The Chevrolet Captiva (+0.9%) and Toyota Hilux (+14%) manage positive result as does the Hyundai Tucson (+92.7%) closing out the Top 10. Below, the Geely Emgrand (+509.1%) and Changan Alsvin (+100%) stand out.
