Germany private sales September 2024: Tesla Model Y most popular

The Tesla Model Y is the favourite of German private buyers in September.

Private sales (PS) in Germany account for 68,920 units in September, that’s a 33% ratio and a -7.3% year drop. The year-to-date volume is up a tiny 0.8% to 687,724 for a 32.5% PS ratio vs 31.9% over the same period in 2023. #1 over the Full Year 2023 but #5 so far this year, the Tesla Model Y is back in pole position with a strong 65% PS ratio vs. 61.3% YTD. #1 last month, the VW T-Roc drops to #2 with a PS ratio of 47.5%, in line with its YTD level where it ranks #1. The Dacia Sandero, at 85.4% PS ratio, stays at #3 vs. #25 in the overall ranking. It distances the VW Tiguan (24.1% PS) and Golf (24.3% PS) both with weak PS ratios.
