Denmark August 2024: Skoda Enyaq signs first ever win
The Skoda Enyaq is the best-selling vehicle in Denmark in August.
The Danish new car market skids -4.9% year-on-year in August to 12,854 registrations. This means the year-to-date tally is now up 1.5% to 110,694. The Top 3 carmakers all deliver outstanding results with double-digit gains. Volkswagen is up 88.6% to 16.9% share vs. 11% so far this year, Mercedes gains 64.1% to 8.5% of the market vs. 6.9% and Skoda is up 28.1% to 8.2% share vs. 4.9% a year ago. Audi (+1.9%) is a lot more discreet yet still in positive. Renault (+140.1%) and BMW (+20.8%) also excel. #1 over the Full Year 2023 and #2 year-to-date, Tesla (-41.6%) freefalls to #7 this month. Chinese fares BYD (+1018.5%) and Xpeng (+892%) roar up.
Over in the models ranking, the Skoda Enyaq (+91.4%) surges to its first ever Danish pole position, with its previous best being #3 in July 2022 and November 2023. The Tesla Model Y (-44.1%) is beaten at #2 but still reigns year-to-date with 5.5% of the market ahead of the Tesla Model 3 ranking #9 this month (-34%). The VW T-Roc (+189.8%) and ID.4 (+259.3%) follow with sensational gains. In fact the rest of the Top 8 vastly outpaces the market with the VW ID.3 (+410%), Mercedes EQA (+301.2%) and BMW 3 Series (+285.5%) the most dynamic.
