Croatia August 2024: VW Tiguan and MG ZS on podium, Geely Coolray in Top 20
The Geely Coolray breaks into the Croatian Top 20 for the first time in August.
3,296 new cars found a buyer in Croatia in August, a -5.2% year-on-year fall. The year-to-date volume remains in positive however at +12.2% to 47,659. Volkswagen (+4.3%) swims upstream and snaps the brands top spot for the third time in the past four months. It distances YTD leader Skoda (-15.5%) in difficulty and Kia (-5.7%). Hyundai (+29.6%) and Toyota (+17.3%) round out the Top 5 in stellar fashion. Audi (+2.9%) is the only additional Top 10 carmaker in positive. MG (+186.4%) continues to progress fast but slips out of the Top 10 at #11. Ford (+461.1%) and Opel (+110.3%) compensates on particularly low year-ago results while newcomer Geely steps up to #17 with 1.6% share.
The Skoda Octavia (+12.5%) soars five spots on last month to return to the #1 ranking it also holds year-to-date. Below, the VW Tiguan (+184.6%), MG ZS (+282.1%) and Kia Stonic (+108%) all score tremendous lifts. It is the first podium finish for the ZS at #3. The Toyota Yaris (+105.9%) and VW T-Cross (+78.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. The Kia Ceed is up 8 ranks to #10, with the Ford Kuga (#12), Opel Mokka (#13), Peugeot 2008 (#16), Hyundai i30 (#17) and Renault Twingo (#20) making an appearance inside the Top 20. But the most notable new arrival among the 20 most popular cars is the Geely Coolray up to #19 with 1.5% share.
