Greece July 2024: Toyota Yaris back in charge in negative market

The Toyota Yaris is the most popular vehicle in Greece in July.

Greek new car sales edge down -1.4% year-on-year in July to 12,205 units, but the year-to-date tally remains frankly in positive at +9% to 90,225. Toyota (+27%) posts another very satisfying score at 18.9% share vs. 17% so far this year. Peugeot (-17.6%) climbs back up four spots on last month to #2 but struggles year-on-year. In contrast Suzuki (+41.4%) excels year-on-year but is below its YTD share at 7.7% vs. 8.2%. Nissan (+322.3%), BMW (+67.6%), Audi (+38.6%) and Citroen (+33.6%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Yaris (+31.5%) takes the lead for the first time since last February with 7.8% share vs. 5.5% year-to-date where it ranks #2. Faraway leader in June, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+7.1%) falls back to earth with 5% share but still manages to hold onto the year-to-date pole position with a 81-unit advantage over the Yaris. The Peugeot 2008 (-18.5%) sinks year-on-year but scores a solid third place overall. The next four models all post fantastic results: the Suzuki Vitara is up 27.7%, the BMW X1 gains 210.6%, the Citroen C3 is at +73.6% and the Suzuki Ignis at +111.7%.
