Romania June 2024: Market up spectacularly, Dacia Logan back in charge

The Dacia Logan is the best-selling vehicle in Romania in June.

21,358 new cars hit Romanian roads in June, an extravagant +62.1% year-on-year improvement. This way, the year-to-date tally is now up 13.4% to 83,506. Dacia beats its home market at +79% to 32.5% share vs. 31.2% halfway through the year. In fact the entire podium advances faster than average with Toyota up 72.5% to 9.1% share and Renault up 87.5% to 7.8%. Renault is up to #3 year-to-date as a result, passing Skoda (+21.4%). Volkswagen (+36.2%) is shy in context while Hyundai (+68.6%) gains some market share year-on-year. SSaangyong (+310.3%) – signing its first Top 10 since August 2022 at #9, Nissan (+462.2%) and Mitsubishi (+451.3%) all post spectacular lifts below. Note also newcomer MG staying at #15 with 1.9% share v.s 1% over H1. 

Over in the models lane, the Dacia Logan (+115.5%) is back in charge for the third time this year after January and April with a splendid 12.4% share, yet it remains #2 year-to-date below the Dacia Duster (+188.3%) at 11% this month. The Dacia Sandero (+71.7%) rounds out the podium as it does halfway through the year. The Skoda Octavia (+71.7%) is up two spots on May to #4 while the Toyota Corolla (+103.6%) is up three to #5. Excellent scores also by the Ford Puma (+162.4%), VW Golf (+231.5%), Toyota RAV4 (+101.1%) and Ssangyong Tivoli (+929.4%).
