Pakistan May 2024: Sazgar Haval H6 up to #2 in market back up 107%
The Sazgar Haval H6 is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Pakistan in May.
Once again, sales of new assembled light vehicles in Pakistan rally up 107% year-on-year in May to 10,949 units, keeping in mind May 2023 was down -76.9% on the year prior. As a result we remain a harsh -52.2% below the May 2022 result of 22,893. The year-to-date tally is now up 41.7% to 51,088. This is according to local association PAMA. Note not all manufacturers present in Pakistan are members of PAMA such as Kia, Changan and MG notably and therefore don’t appear in these statistics. Chery has recently stopped sharing sales data as well.
Suzuki (+103.2%) maintains its lead over the brands ranking with a stellar 54.9% share vs. 50% so far this year. Toyota (+6.5%) is more discreet and falls to 16.7% share vs. 20.4% YTD. Compared to a particularly low year-ago base, Honda surges 1264.4% year-on-year but can only muster a 10.8% share vs. 14.2% YTD. Sazgar Haval (+456.4%) and JAC (+4300%) also beat the market. The Suzuki Alto (+113.6%) is strong at 37.1% share but the event of the month is the record 2nd place of the Sazgar Haval H6 (+456.4%).
