Kazakhstan March 2024: Market up 16.8%, Chinese at record 41.8% share

Haval sales are up 262.3% year-on-year in March.

With some delay we finally have access to Kazakh sales data. It shows April figures up 16.8% to 15,975 units and year-to-date volumes up 6.1% to 39,569. Hyundai (-9.7%) easily remains atop the brands charts despite a year-on-year loss. It distances Kia (-11.2%) at #2 and a freefalling Chevrolet (-60.9%) in third place. The rest of the Top 10 entirely beats the market. Geely (+327.4%), Changan (+286.9%) and Haval (+262.3%) are the most dynamic with JAC (+91.4%), Toyota (+89.3%) and Chery (+84.6%) also impressive. Newcomer Jetour is down two spots on February to #9. Omoda is up two to #13 as is TANK up to #15 and Zeekr remains at #19. All in all, Chinese manufacturers hold a record 41.8% share.

Model-wise, the Hyundai Tucson (+60%) is ultra dominant again at 13.9% share for the month and 13.7% year-to-date. Leader for the past three years, the Chevrolet Cobalt (-48.6%) implodes but still manages a 2nd position overall. The Kia Sportage (-23.8%) stays at #3 while the Jetour X70 advances one rank on last month to a record 4th place. It’s a first Top 10 ever for the Haval Jolion (+410.4%), followed by the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (+29.3%) and Changan CS55 Plus (+294.7%). The recently launched Geely Emgrand climbs to #12, with the Changan Uni-V up 40 spots on February to #17.
