Greece April 2024: Toyota at highest in 2.5 years, Suzuki Vitara best-seller

The Suzuki Vitara is the most popular vehicle in Greece in April.

New car sales in Greece deliver their highest year-on-year gain for the year in April at +31.3% to 13,445 units. This brings the year-to-date tally up 13.9% to 50,113. The top four carmakers all vastly beat the market. Toyota surges 110.5% year-on-year to 18.8% share, its highest since the 19.7% it hit in August 2021. Peugeot (+96.7%) almost doubles its sales year-on-year while Suzuki (+216.3%) triples them and Hyundai (+139.9%) also soars. In contrast Citroen (-1.4%) and Opel (-25.6%) struggle. Skoda (+143.6%) and Mercedes (+38.7%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10 while Dacia (+43.4%) shines at #11.

Over in the models lane, the Top 6 all advance faster than the overall growth rate. The Suzuki Vitara (+855.4%) is the overall best-seller for the fourth time in the past 7 months (add last October, November and December). The Toyota Yaris (+71.8%) rallies back up 8 spots on March to #2, a ranking it also holds year-to-date. The Peugeot 2008 (+1331.7%) posts a truly surreal lift to #3, followed by the Toyota Yaris Cross (+133.8%), Aygo X (+179.6%) and Skoda Fabia (+700%). The Citroen C3 Aircross (+537.7%) and Fiat Panda (+185.7%) also impress below.
