Bulgaria February 2024: Market surges +57.2%, Toyota and Corolla in the lead

The Toyota Corolla is the best-selling light vehicle in Bulgaria in February.

The Bulgarian new light vehicle market continues on its outstanding run with sales up 57.2% to 4,174 in February. This means the year-to-date tally is now up 55.6% to 8,687. Keep in mind Bulgaria sales data is strongly skewed by re-exports to other European markets as many cars registered in the country never see its roads. The Top 4 brands all outpace the market, with Toyota (+88.9%) now alone in the top spot, followed by Skoda (+189.4%). Volkswagen (+58.6%) and Dacia (+58.2%) are close to the market growth rate below. Mercedes (+85%) and Citroen (+63.1%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.

Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+121.8%) takes charge both for the month and year-to-date, distancing the Skoda Octavia (+177.8%) and Dacia Jogger (+713.3%). In fact 8 of the Top 10 models at least double their sales year-on-year. The Dacia Duster (+2025%) and Ford Focus (+1620%) score the largest gains followed by the Toyota RAV4 (+606.3%), Skoda Kamiq (+365.4%) and Superb (+266.7%). #1 a year ago, the Toyota C-HR (-22%) is down to #7 for the month. The Kia Sportage (+84.8%) also beats the market to round out the Top 10.
