Croatia Full Year 2023: Renault Clio signs first win in 20 years, market up 28.6%

New car sales in Croatia surge 28.6% in 2023 to 56,697 units, however we are still below the pre-pandemic 2019 level of 62,938. Skoda (+46.2%) edges past Volkswagen (+24.3%) at the last minute for just 12 sales as it was still ranked #2 at end November. Renault (+124.4%) more than doubles its 2022 volume and score the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 17, up four spots on last year to #3. Kia (+15.9%) drops one rank to #4 ahead of Dacia (+21%) staying at #5. Suzuki (+88.8%) and Audi (+51.6%) also post remarkable lifts in the remainder of the Top 10.

Model-wise, the Renault Clio (+197.1%) triples its sales year-on-year to claim the pole position for the first time in 20 years (last time was in 2003), soaring from #9 to #1. It distances last year’s leader the Skoda Octavia (+28.9%). The Dacia Duster (+16%) also drops one spot to #3 while the Renault Captur (+96.2%) is up 11 to #4. The Dacia Sandero (+19.2%), Suzuki S-Cross (+75.4%) and Vitara (+111.2%) follow. Below, the Skoda Kamiq (+88%), Kia Sportage (+50.9%), Toyota Yaris Cross (+69.3%), MG ZS (+690.7%) and Renault Megane (+204.6%) enter the Top 10.
