Kazakhstan October 2023: Market up 69.4%, Omoda in Top 10
Only three months after launching, Omoda is among Kazakhstan’s Top 10 brands.
New vehicle sales in Kazakhstan surge 69.4% year-on-year in October to 18,187 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 59.9% to 156,288. Chevrolet (+21.8%) overtakes Hyundai (+60%) to snap the top spot in the brands ranking with 21% share. This is however less than the 22.9% it commands year-to-date, with both Chevrolet and Hyundai significantly below their YTD shares. Kia (+69.5%), Chery (+79.7%) and Toyota (+78%) hold onto their ranking at #3, #4 and #5 respectively. JAC (+130.4%) and Haval (+297%) both sport extravagant gains as does Changan (+1328.9%) celebrating one year in market. Jetour repeats at a record #8 while Omoda breaks into the Top 10 at #10 for only its third month in market.
The Chevrolet Cobalt (+6.2%) remains ultra dominant in the models charts with 12.8% share vs. 15% so far this year. The Hyundai Tucson (-0.1%) stays in 2nd place despite vastly underperforming, while the Hyundai Santa Fe (+428.9%) shoots up to #3 with 5% of the market. The newly released Chevrolet Onix advances three spots on September to #4, distancing the Chery Tiggo 2 down one to #5. The Kia Cerato (+372.4%) and Toyota Camry (+53900%) skyrocket to #6 and #7 respectively just as the Hyundai Elantra (+70.8%) and Kia Sportage (+53.8%) round out the Top 10.
