Greece October 2023: Suzuki Vitara takes control, sales up 44.8%

The Suzuki Vitara is by far the most popular vehicle in Greece in October.

11,282 new cars hit Greek roads in October, a 44.8% year-on-year surge which is the  best since last March. The year-to-date tally is now up 27.6% to 115,792. Toyota (-2.4%) keeps control of the brands charts despite going completely against the market with a year-on-year drop. At 9.4% share, it is much lower than its YTD level of 12.7%. Hyundai (+32%) can’t quite keep up with the overall evolution but gains two spots on September to #2. The next three carmakers post sensational gains: Opel (+486.7%) is the most dynamic followed by Citroen (+294.7%) and Suzuki (+146.4%). Kia (+200.9%) also shines below with BMW (+46%) matching the market. Newcomer MG breaks into the Top 20 for the first time at #20 and 1.8% share only 4 months after launch.

11 of the Top 12 models vastly outpace the market this month. The Suzuki Vitara (+306.2%) is up seven spots on September to snap the pole position with a dominant 5.3% share vs. 3.2% for the #2, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+86.6%). The Citroen C3 (+1257.7%) confirms the third spot it holds year-to-date while the Citroen C3 Aircross (+1589.5%) manages the largest year-on-year lift in The Top 65 at #4. The Peugeot 2008 (+742.4%) is also impressive at #6. The Opel Corsa (+605.3%), Kia Picanto (+422%), Opel Crossland (+335.5%), Toyota C-HR (+206.9%) and Ford Puma (+112.6%) shine below.
